I am willing to teach only drumset but
you would greatly benefit from
learning from books since they take
you on an easy to learn, step by step
course, helping you to build your
skills and technique.
A breakdown of the lessons as far as price and format:
The lessons are $25.00 for 1 hour or $15.00 for 30 minutes, paid 1 month in advance.
Lessons are only done (at this time) at my home in Belleview.
Most of the people I teach have never read or have read very little drum music. I start
everyone who wants to read music at the basic level, and build a foundation from there.
We will begin with a very easy to understand book...
This was my first book and it will give each
student a thorough working knowledge of drum
notes and applications. (I do not supply the
books. Syncopation can be purchased at music
stores such as Sound Exchange in Ocala for
around $7.00)
We will learn how to read all
different note types,
quarters, eights, sixteenths,
etc.
I will go over rudiments and application of
rudiments such as tripelets, flams, rolls etc.
Eventually over time, you will be able to write
your own music!
After the students have grown in skill and
technique, I will also cover different types of
music, such as the rock, jazz and latin styles using bongos, cowbells, brushes, and
woodblocks and I will show you how to use them in music.
We will cover drumset techniques and I will have songs without any drums in them so that
students will have to "find the beat" and play along with it as their weekly lesson.
If you already know how to play the dums a little but
want to learn some new techniques or want to
improve what you already know, please contact me!
